Efehan ++ Music + Animation
Though it in no way represents the actual beauty, nor the magical sound of the Album Leaf last night, it is the best my phone could do, and you may need to take my word for the music.
As Allison and I sipped our beers and chatted, and the members of the band moved amongst the equipment they had set up, placing strange (what seemed to me to be) cardboard tubes amongst the stands and instruments, I was wondering what the heck was going on. I couldn’t decipher their meaning, and I apparently missed the few minutes when they became wired together.
The moment they fired up their garden of lights, and began playing, though, I may as well have traveled to another world. It is one of the only shows I have ever attended where my feet hurt more and more, but I wanted the music to end less and less. I don’t know who or what was controlling their forest of illumination while they played, but thank you to them too, because it allowed the wonderful music they conveyed to supercede the venue in which we stood. I love Lee’s, but I never would have thought I would have been witnessing such a specific kind of beauty on their stage.
For every negative the city can throw in my face, the chance to see such things but a few blocks from my door is … well, its magic.
